About the Role
Veritas Education are currently recruiting for enthusiastic and reliable Cover Supervisors to work across a variety of secondary schools in the Wakefield area. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain classroom experience, support schools, and make a positive impact on students' learning.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will deliver pre-set work in the absence of the class teacher, ensuring lessons run smoothly and students remain engaged and on task.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise whole classes during teacher absences
- Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials and ensure students complete work set
- Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
- Support a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Provide feedback to teaching staff on student progress and behaviour
- Uphold safeguarding procedures at all times
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Experience working with young people (school, coaching, youth work, or similar)
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
- Confidence leading a classroom independently
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- A proactive and adaptable approach
- A genuine interest in education and supporting student development
