Lecturer - SEMH College | New Malden | Specialist Provision

Are you an experienced educator looking to make a meaningful impact in a specialist college setting?

Veritas Education is working with a well-established SEMH college in New Malden to recruit a dedicated and resilient Lecturer to support young people with social, emotional and mental health needs.

This is a highly rewarding opportunity to work with students who require a personalised, nurturing approach to learning, helping them develop both academically and personally.

The Role

You will be delivering engaging, differentiated lessons to learners with a range of additional needs, supporting their progression into further education, employment, and independence.

Responsibilities include:

  • Planning and delivering tailored lessons to meet individual learning needs
  • Supporting students with SEMH, Autism, and complex behavioural needs
  • Promoting engagement, confidence, and independent learning
  • Managing behaviour positively using trauma-informed strategies
  • Working collaboratively with support staff, therapists, and wider college teams
  • Contributing to EHCP targets, reviews, and student progress tracking
  • The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience teaching within SEN, SEMH or alternative provision settings
  • A strong understanding of behaviour management and emotional regulation
  • Experience delivering functional skills or vocational subjects (desirable)
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • A calm, resilient and adaptable approach
  • A genuine commitment to supporting young people with complex needs
