SEN Maths Teacher - Specialist Provision
Location: New Malden Salary: £160-£260 Start Date: ASAP Contract: Full time / Long term / Temp
About the Role
An inclusive and well-resourced SEND school is seeking a dedicated SEN Maths Teacher to join their team. The school supports pupils with a range of needs, including autism spectrum conditions, cognition and learning difficulties, and associated behavioural needs.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate educator who is committed to delivering engaging, differentiated Maths lessons that meet the individual needs of every learner.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver adaptive Maths lessons tailored to students' EHCP targets
- Support pupils with varying levels of ability, including those working below age-related expectations
- Implement differentiation and personalised learning strategies
- Manage behaviour in a calm, structured, and supportive manner
- Work closely with SENCOs, Teaching Assistants, and therapists
- Track and monitor student progress against individual outcomes
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience working with SEND pupils, particularly autism and learning difficulties
- Strong understanding of EHCPs and differentiated teaching approaches
- Confident delivering Maths across KS2-KS4 (depending on setting)
- Excellent behaviour management and communication skills
- A patient, resilient, and nurturing approach
Desirable
- Experience in a special school or alternative provision
- Knowledge of intervention strategies and therapeutic approaches
- Experience supporting students with SEMH or complex needs
