SEN Maths Teacher - Specialist Provision

Location: New Malden Salary: £160-£260 Start Date: ASAP Contract: Full time / Long term / Temp

About the Role

An inclusive and well-resourced SEND school is seeking a dedicated SEN Maths Teacher to join their team. The school supports pupils with a range of needs, including autism spectrum conditions, cognition and learning difficulties, and associated behavioural needs.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate educator who is committed to delivering engaging, differentiated Maths lessons that meet the individual needs of every learner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver adaptive Maths lessons tailored to students' EHCP targets
  • Support pupils with varying levels of ability, including those working below age-related expectations
  • Implement differentiation and personalised learning strategies
  • Manage behaviour in a calm, structured, and supportive manner
  • Work closely with SENCOs, Teaching Assistants, and therapists
  • Track and monitor student progress against individual outcomes
  • Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience working with SEND pupils, particularly autism and learning difficulties
  • Strong understanding of EHCPs and differentiated teaching approaches
  • Confident delivering Maths across KS2-KS4 (depending on setting)
  • Excellent behaviour management and communication skills
  • A patient, resilient, and nurturing approach
  • Desirable

  • Experience in a special school or alternative provision
  • Knowledge of intervention strategies and therapeutic approaches
  • Experience supporting students with SEMH or complex needs
