???? About the Role
We are currently working with a specialist SEMH school in Dorking to recruit a dedicated and resilient Learning Support Assistant (LSA).
This is a fantastic opportunity to support pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs, helping them re-engage with education and develop the skills they need to succeed both in school and beyond.
???????? Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs
- Assist in managing challenging behaviour in a calm and professional manner
- Build positive, trusting relationships with students
- Support emotional regulation using structured and consistent approaches
- Work alongside the teacher to deliver engaging and accessible lessons
- Implement support strategies in line with EHCP targets
- Help maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment
✅ The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Experience working with SEMH, SEND, or challenging behaviour
- Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
- A calm, patient, and resilient personality
- Ability to build rapport quickly with vulnerable learners
- Background in education, youth work, support work, or care (desirable)
- Understanding of trauma-informed or therapeutic approaches (advantageous)
