Pastoral Support Officer - Secondary Schools

East Lancashire Short-Term to Long-Term Assignments Via Veritas Education

Veritas Education are working closely with a number of secondary schools across East Lancashire and are currently recruiting Pastoral Support Officers for short-term and long-term assignments.

The Role

As a Pastoral Support Officer, you will play a key role in supporting students' behaviour, well-being, and personal development. Responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting students with emotional, behavioural, and social needs
  • Managing behaviour and promoting positive engagement in school
  • Working closely with teaching staff, SEN teams, and safeguarding leads
  • Delivering 1:1 support and small group interventions
  • Acting as a trusted adult and positive role model
  • Requirements

  • Experience supporting young people in a school, pastoral, youth work, or support-focused role
  • A calm, consistent, and empathetic approach
  • Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to adapt to different school environments
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
