Job Title: Cover Supervisor - Secondary Schools (Croydon Area)
Location: Croydon, South London Job Type: Full-time / Part-time / Flexible Supply Salary: Competitive daily rate (dependent on experience)
About the Role: We are seeking reliable, confident, and adaptable Cover Supervisors to work across a range of secondary schools in the Croydon area. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain classroom experience, whether you're considering a career in teaching or seeking flexible work in education.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will step into the classroom in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring students remain on task with pre-set work and maintaining a positive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise whole classes during teacher absences
- Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials and instructions
- Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
- Ensure a safe and productive learning environment
- Provide feedback to teaching staff on student progress and behaviour
Requirements:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Confidence managing groups of young people (ages 11-16)
- A proactive and flexible attitude
- Previous experience working with children or young people (desirable but not essential)
- A degree or relevant qualification (preferred)
- Eligibility to work in the UK
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
