Veritas Education is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Humanities Teacher to join a supportive secondary school in Castleford. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated practitioner with a passion for subjects such as History, Geography, or RE to inspire learners and contribute to a thriving Humanities department.
About the Role
The successful candidate will deliver engaging and well-structured Humanities lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4. You will work collaboratively with department colleagues to raise attainment, support student progress, and enrich the curriculum.

Key Responsibilities
- Planning and teaching high-quality Humanities lessons
- Assessing, tracking, and monitoring pupil progress
- Creating a positive learning environment where all students feel supported and challenged
- Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
- Contributing to departmental development and wider school life
- Upholding safeguarding responsibilities in accordance with DfE guidelines
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Strong subject knowledge in one or more Humanities disciplines
- Ability to motivate and inspire learners of mixed abilities
- Excellent communication, organisation, and behaviour management skills
- A professional, adaptable, and proactive approach
- A valid enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
