Science Teaching Assistant - Mainstream Secondary School
Are you a Science Graduate Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting young people in the classroom?A vibrant, inclusive secondary school in Haringey is seeking a committed Science Graduate to join their team until the end of the academic year, with the strong possibility of continuing into the next academic year
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous school‑based experience who is confident supporting students across science classes. It is also a great opportunity for a Science Graduate who is considering going into teaching
The Role
As a Science Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support students across KS3 and KS4 Science classes
- Work with pupils 1:1 and in small groups to raise attainment
- Assist teachers with lesson prep, resources, and in‑class support
- Help manage behaviour and promote a positive learning environment
- Provide tailored support to students with SEND and other additional needs
- Build strong relationships with students, staff, and families
Requirements
- Previous experience working in a UK secondary school
- A STEM based degree
- Strong communication skills and the ability to engage young people
- A proactive, patient, and positive approach
- The confidence to support learning in busy classroom environments
- Good organisational skills and the ability to work as part of a team
