Veritas Education is looking to appoint a Female Sports Coach to support PE departments within a secondary school in the Wakefield area. This role involves delivering and assisting with girls' PE lessons, leading small groups, and supporting extra-curricular sporting activities across KS3 and KS4.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the planning and delivery of girls' PE lessons across a range of sports.
- Supervise groups of students during practical activities and fixtures.
- Promote positive behaviour, teamwork, inclusion, and participation.
- Deliver sessions independently where required.
- Assist with lunchtime and after-school sports clubs.
- Provide encouragement, guidance, and pastoral support in line with school policies and safeguarding expectations.
Requirements
- Experience coaching or teaching sport (school or club setting).
- Confident leading physical activities with secondary-aged students.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A passion for promoting physical activity, wellbeing, and engagement.
- An enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to apply for one through Veritas Education.
- Relevant coaching qualifications are desirable but not essential.
