A welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Brent is looking for a bright, motivated English or Humanities graduate to join their team as a Teaching Assistant. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who's passionate about education and considering a career in teaching.
The Role
You'll be working closely with the English and Humanities departments to support students across KS3 and KS4, helping to raise attainment and build confidence in reading, writing and critical thinking. The role includes:
- Supporting pupils in small groups and one-to-one sessions
- Assisting teachers with lesson preparation and classroom activities
- Supporting children with SEND
- Helping students develop literacy skills and a love of learning
- Providing tailored support to pupils with additional needs
- Contributing to a positive and focused learning environment
About You
We're looking for someone who:
- Has a degree in English, History, or a related subject
- Is enthusiastic, reliable and keen to make a difference
- Has excellent communication skills and a patient, supportive approach
- Is considering teacher training in the future (ideal for aspiring English teachers)
- Has some experience working with young people (formal or informal)
