Religious Education Teacher
Salary: Main Pay Scale Location: Forest Gate, London Contract Type: Full Time | Permanent Start Date: January 2026 or sooner
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Religious Education Teacher to join our successful and inclusive secondary school in Forest Gate. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic teacher to inspire and challenge students across Key Stages 3 and 4.
You'll be joining a supportive Humanities department, reporting to an experienced Head of Department, with access to high-quality resources, strong leadership, and ongoing professional development.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality, engaging and well-planned RE lessons that inspire all learners
Use effective assessment for learning to monitor progress and adapt teaching
Contribute to curriculum development and department planning
Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance and behaviour
Create a safe and inclusive classroom environment with high expectations
Support whole-school initiatives, including enrichment and intervention activities
Undertake form tutor responsibilities as part of the pastoral system
What We're Looking For
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
A strong subject knowledge in Religious Education
Ability to deliver lessons that support progress for all students, including those with SEND
Excellent classroom management and a commitment to positive behaviour strategies
A reflective practitioner committed to continuous improvement and professional growth
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
