Job Title: 1:1 Teaching Assistant (Level 2) - Long-Term SEN Support Location: Primary School in Blackburn through Veritas Education
Job Description: Veritas Education is seeking a Level 2 Teaching Assistant for a long-term role in a welcoming primary school in Blackburn. This position involves providing 1:1 support for two pupils-one in Year 2 and one in Year 5-both with ADHD and ASD. The role offers a varied and rewarding day, combining academic support, movement-based strategies, and emotional regulation techniques.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver consistent 1:1 support tailored to each child's individual needs
- Implement movement breaks and sensory strategies to support focus and regulation
- Provide intervention support, particularly in English, using modelling and scaffolding techniques
- Support the Year 2 pupil with single letter sounds and early phonics development
- Encourage independence, confidence, and positive behaviour
- Work closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to ensure effective support
What We're Looking For:
- A relevant qualification, such as Level 2 in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent)
- Experience supporting children with ADHD, ASD, or similar additional needs
- A calm, patient, and proactive approach to learning and behaviour support
- Confidence in delivering interventions and adapting learning materials
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
