Job Title: 1:1 Teaching Assistant (TA3 Level) - SEN Support Location: Blackburn
Job Description: Veritas Education is currently recruiting 1:1 Teaching Assistants (TA3 Level) to work across a range of primary schools in Blackburn. These roles involve supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) on a one-to-one basis, helping them access learning and thrive in the classroom. Positions are available on a day-to-day supply basis as well as long-term contracts, offering flexibility and variety.
Responsibilities:
- Provide dedicated one-to-one support for pupils with SEN, adapting learning activities to meet individual needs
- Assist classroom teachers in delivering inclusive, high-quality lessons
- Foster a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for pupils
- Support pupils with emotional regulation, communication, and social interaction
- Collaborate with teaching staff, SENCOs, and external professionals to ensure consistent support
- Monitor and report on pupil progress and wellbeing
Requirements:
- Relevant qualification (e.g., Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent)
- Experience working with children with SEN in a primary school setting
- Strong communication skills, patience, and a caring approach
- Ability to adapt to different school environments and pupil needs
