An alternative provision in Newhaven is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to join their team and provide one-to-one and small group support to students who need it most. This is a highly rewarding role in a nurturing and structured environment, where your input can shape futures.
✅ Key Responsibilities:
Provide consistent behaviour support to students with SEMH needs
Build trusting, positive relationships to help students engage in learning
Work closely with teaching staff and external professionals to implement behaviour strategies
Support the development of social and emotional skills through tailored interventions
De-escalate challenging situations using positive behaviour techniques
Help create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
???? Requirements:
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain a new one)
Experience supporting children or young people with behavioural or SEMH needs (desirable but not essential)
Calm, resilient and adaptable approach to working in a dynamic school setting
Ability to start immediately and commit to a full-time position
