Location: Lewisham, South East London Contract: Full-Time | Permanent Salary: MPS/UPS (Inner London)

Are you a passionate and dynamic Music Teacher looking for an exciting opportunity to work within a thriving and ambitious music department? A secondary school in Lewisham is seeking a dedicated classroom Music Teacher to inspire and engage students across Key Stages 3 and 4, with potential involvement at Key Stage 5.

The Role

You will be responsible for:

  • Planning and delivering engaging and inclusive Music lessons across Key Stages 3-4 (with potential for Key Stage 5)

  • Collaborating with a highly experienced Music team to develop and enrich an already successful curriculum

  • Contributing to a vibrant co-curricular music programme, including regular performances, ensembles, concerts, and music clubs

  • Supporting the musical development of our music scholars, who make up approximately 10% of the student body

  • Maintaining high standards of classroom management and student engagement

  • Communicating effectively with students, parents, and colleagues

  • Participating in ongoing professional learning and innovation in teaching practice

    We are looking for someone who:

  • Is a qualified and enthusiastic Music Teacher with QTS (or equivalent)

  • Has experience teaching Music at KS3 and KS4, with a strong understanding of curriculum planning

  • Is committed to inclusive education and passionate about enabling every student to access high-quality musical learning

  • Brings excellent musicianship, creativity, and energy to both classroom and co-curricular settings

  • Is a strong team player and an effective communicator with staff, students, and families

  • Has the drive to inspire trust, respect, and ambition in young people
