Veritas Education is excited to present an incredible opportunity for an experienced Nursery Deputy Manager to join a well-established and thriving nursery in Romford. This is a permanent, full-time role, set to begin in September, and we are looking for a passionate and committed professional to take on a leadership role within the setting.

About the Role:

As the Nursery Deputy Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the Nursery Manager in the daily running of the nursery. You will lead a dedicated team to ensure the highest standards of care and education are provided to children aged 0-5 years. Your role will include overseeing the day-to-day operations, managing staff, and ensuring the nursery meets all regulatory and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Nursery Manager in the overall management and operational running of the nursery.
  • Supervise and guide staff to ensure the highest quality of care and learning for children.
  • Work closely with the Nursery Manager to ensure the nursery complies with all regulatory frameworks and safeguarding guidelines.
  • Lead and motivate a team of nursery practitioners, supporting their professional development.
  • Oversee the planning and delivery of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication with parents and carers, building strong relationships.
  • Help with recruitment, training, and performance management of staff.
  • Ensure a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children.
  • Ideal Candidate:

  • Minimum Level 3 Qualification in Early Years Education (essential).
  • Previous experience in a management or deputy management role within a nursery setting.
  • A strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and how to implement it effectively.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
  • Sound knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, and health & safety procedures.
  • A passion for working with young children and helping them develop in their early years.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and build strong relationships with staff, children, and parents.
