Supportive SEN TA
Pay: £90-£110 per day
Full-time/ Term Time only
Hackney, North London
We are working with schools across North London seeking a supportive and engaging SEN TA who brings a positive attitude and a proactive approach. With a strong background in SEN, particularly in primary and secondary.
Supportive SEN TA Role:
- Experienced SEN Teaching Assistant with a background in early years and nurseries
- Now seeking to expand into primary and secondary school settings
- Skilled in supporting children with ASD, ADHD, speech & language needs, and developmental delays
- Calm, patient, and approachable - able to build strong, trusting relationships
- Sporty and energetic - engages pupils through movement, outdoor play, and active learning
- Confident in managing behaviour and providing structure and routine
- Works well 1:1 or in small groups, especially with children who benefit from consistent support
Supportive SEN TA Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 or small group support to students with special educational needs
- Assist with implementing EHCP targets, behaviour plans, and tailored learning strategies
- Use sports and active learning techniques to engage and motivate students
- Help manage challenging behaviour with calm, consistent, and positive reinforcement
- Support the class teacher in delivering differentiated lessons and activities
- Promote social, emotional, and physical development through structured play and interaction
- Monitor and record student progress, feeding back to teachers and SENCOs
- Encourage independence and confidence in students throughout the school day
