School Receptionist - Primary SEMH & ASD School (Greenwich)
Position: School Receptionist Location: Greenwich, London Start Date: September 1st, 2025 Pay: £12.50 - £15 per hour Contract Type: Full-Time, Term-Time Only
Our Primary SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) School, which also has a dedicated ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) department, is looking for an enthusiastic and professional School Receptionist to join our dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in our welcoming and inclusive school community, ensuring the smooth running of the school's day-to-day operations.
What We're Looking For:
We are seeking a School Receptionist with the following key qualities:
Experience with SIMS (School Information Management System) is a must, as you will be managing pupil records, attendance, and school data.
An enhanced DBS check on the update service or the willingness to buy a new one.
A proactive and positive attitude to work with a diverse group of students and staff, particularly within the SEMH and ASD departments.
Excellent communication skills - you will be the first point of contact for parents, staff, and visitors.
Strong organisational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
As the School Receptionist, your duties will include but are not limited to:
Frontline Reception Duties:
Greeting visitors, parents, and students with a friendly, professional, and welcoming manner.
Answering phone calls and responding to general inquiries.
Managing the school's inbox, responding to emails promptly, and forwarding messages to the relevant staff.
Administering SIMS:
Managing pupil records, including updating personal information and ensuring accuracy.
Inputting and maintaining attendance records, tracking absences, and following up with parents when necessary.
Assisting with data entry for new pupils, updating medical and safeguarding information.
Supporting the Office Team:
Assisting with the general administrative duties such as filing, photocopying, and distributing documents.
Preparing school correspondence, including letters to parents, newsletters, and information packs.
Safeguarding and Security:
Ensuring all visitors sign in and out of the school and adhere to the school's safeguarding policies.
Liaising with the pastoral team to ensure any safeguarding concerns are reported appropriately.
