SEMH Support Assistant - Secondary School (Keighley) Location: Keighley Start Date: September 2025 Contract Type: Full-Time or Part-Time (Temp-to-Perm Opportunities Available) Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Veritas Education are currently working in partnership with a well-regarded secondary school in Keighley to recruit SEMH Support Assistants to join their on-site provision team from September. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide tailored support to students with SEMH needs, helping them engage with learning and overcome barriers.
Support individual pupils and small groups both in the classroom and in dedicated intervention spaces.
Work closely with teaching staff, the SENCO, and pastoral team to implement individual support plans.
Promote a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment for all students.
What we're looking for:
Previous experience working with young people with SEMH needs or within a pastoral/behaviour support role is desirable.
A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to behaviour management.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
A genuine passion for supporting the personal and academic development of young people.
