Job Title: 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant - Secondary School Location: Bexley, South East London Start Date: September 2025 Position Type: Full-Time, Term-Time Only Contract: Ongoing (via agency), with potential for long-term placement Salary: £95-£110 per day (dependent on experience)

We are working on behalf of a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Lewisham to recruit a 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant to start in September. This rewarding role involves providing tailored, individual support to a student with additional learning needs, helping them to thrive both academically and socially within the school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 support to a student with SEND, both inside and outside of the classroom
Implement strategies to support learning, behaviour, and emotional regulation
Work closely with the SENCO, class teachers, and external professionals
Track progress and provide feedback to staff and parents
Promote inclusion and encourage independence and confidence
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Experience working with children or young people with SEND (e.g. ASD, ADHD, SEMH)
A calm, consistent, and nurturing approach
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Resilience and flexibility to adapt to changing needs
A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one)
