Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people with additional needs? We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Tutor to join our supportive team at a specialist post-16 educational setting.
About Us At veritas we work with a school who provide a nurturing and inclusive environment for learners aged 16+ with a range of additional needs, including moderate learning difficulties, autism spectrum conditions, and social, emotional, and mental health challenges. We are committed to finding individuals who help every learner develop the skills and confidence they need for adult life.
The Role
As a SEN Tutor, you will:
- Plan and deliver tailored lessons that meet the individual needs and EHCP outcomes of each student
- Support students' academic, emotional, and social development
- Work collaboratively with support staff, therapists, and families to ensure a consistent and holistic approach
- Use a creative and flexible teaching style to engage learners with a variety of abilities and interests
What We're Looking For
We welcome applications from experienced SEN teachers or tutors with a strong understanding of post-16 education and additional needs. The ideal candidate will have:
- A level 2 or 3 qualification or be working towards one
- Experience working with learners with SEN, particularly in a post-16 setting
- A compassionate, patient, and resilient approach
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people
Application Process: Each candidate will be subject to a DBS and police check where required. A successful candidate will also provide at least two references from their previous employer/s.
