About the Role: We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated French Teacher to join a well-established secondary school in Gravesend for a September 2025 start. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate educator to inspire students and contribute to the development of the Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) department.
As a French Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons to students in Key Stage 3 and 4, with the potential to teach Key Stage 5 for the right candidate. You will create a dynamic and engaging learning environment, helping students to develop both their linguistic skills and a deeper understanding of French culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, deliver, and assess engaging French lessons across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 teaching available for the right candidate)
- Encourage and inspire students to develop a love for the French language
- Provide feedback and support to students to help them achieve their academic potential
- Contribute to extracurricular activities, such as language clubs and cultural trips
- Collaborate with colleagues in the MFL department to share best practices and enhance the curriculum
- Maintain effective communication with students, parents, and staff
- Participate in school events and contribute to the school's ethos and community
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- A degree in French or a related subject
- A recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
- Experience teaching French at Key Stage 3 and 4 (KS5 experience is desirable but not essential)
- Strong classroom management skills
- A passion for teaching and a commitment to student progress
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team
- A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection practices
