A fantastic SEMH school in Sutton is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support students with social, emotional, and mental health needs. ???? About the Role:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you'll work closely with students, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and providing consistent, structured support throughout the school day. You'll play a vital role in building trust, confidence, and a positive learning experience.
???? Key Responsibilities:
Provide individual and small group support to pupils with SEMH and additional needs
Assist the teacher in planning and delivering tailored learning activities
Promote emotional regulation and positive behaviour management
Help students develop communication, social, and life skills
Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment
Monitor and record student progress and behaviour
Support students during transitions, breaks, and off-site activities when necessary
Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals
✅ Requirements:
Previous experience in schools, special needs, care, mental health, or psychology settings
Genuine passion for supporting students with additional needs
Strong communication and empathy skills
Ability to remain calm, consistent and professional under pressure
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to purchase a new one
