Primary Teacher
Pay: £150-£220+ (depending on exp)
Full-time/ Term Time only

A SEN primary teacher (Special Educational Needs primary teacher) is a qualified educator who works with children in the primary age range (typically 4-11 years old) who have special educational needs or disabilities (SEND). These needs can include learning difficulties, physical disabilities, sensory impairments, emotional or behavioural challenges, or conditions like autism, ADHD, or speech and language delays.
Primary Teacher Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons tailored to the needs of SEN students.
- Create Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and support plans to meet the learning needs of each child.
- Provide a safe and nurturing environment for all students.
- Collaborate with other teaching staff, teaching assistants, and support staff to ensure the holistic development of students.
- Monitor and track student progress and report on achievements and areas for improvement.
- Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for each child.
- Use a variety of teaching strategies to cater to different learning styles and needs.
Primary Teacher Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience teaching primary-aged children, with a strong understanding of SEN.
- Knowledge of the SEN Code of Practice and relevant legislation.
- Experience in creating and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team.
- Driver is preferred
