Position: SEN Teaching Assistant (KS2) Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent Start Date: ASAP

Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs, specifically autism and ADHD? You will be working closely with children in Key Stage 2, providing tailored support both on a one-to-one basis and in small groups. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to children with autism and ADHD in Key Stage 2.
  • Assist in the delivery of learning materials, ensuring the children can access and engage with the curriculum.
  • Adapt teaching materials to suit the individual learning needs of the children.
  • Support the children with social and emotional development, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaborate closely with the class teacher and SENCO to monitor progress and plan effective interventions.
  • Promote positive behaviour and provide guidance where needed.
  • The Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience working with children with autism and ADHD is highly desirable.
  • A passion for supporting children with special educational needs.
  • Strong communication skills, both with children and adults.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) or a strong background in supporting children in an educational setting.
  • Experience with KS2 children is advantageous.
