Position: SEN Teaching Assistant (KS2) Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent Start Date: ASAP
Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs, specifically autism and ADHD? Veritas Education is excited to offer an amazing opportunity for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive primary school in Deptford. You will be working closely with children in Key Stage 2, providing tailored support both on a one-to-one basis and in small groups. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to children with autism and ADHD in Key Stage 2.
- Assist in the delivery of learning materials, ensuring the children can access and engage with the curriculum.
- Adapt teaching materials to suit the individual learning needs of the children.
- Support the children with social and emotional development, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Collaborate closely with the class teacher and SENCO to monitor progress and plan effective interventions.
- Promote positive behaviour and provide guidance where needed.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Experience working with children with autism and ADHD is highly desirable.
- A passion for supporting children with special educational needs.
- Strong communication skills, both with children and adults.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently.
- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) or a strong background in supporting children in an educational setting.
- Experience with KS2 children is advantageous.
