Veritas Education is excited to be partnering with a welcoming and vibrant primary school in Peckham to recruit a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant.

Role Overview: As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers to support students in their academic, social, and emotional development. You will help to create a safe and engaging environment, providing one-to-one or small group support to children who may need additional help to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the teacher in planning and delivering lessons.
  • Assist with the implementation of learning activities and ensure that children are actively engaged.
  • Provide individual or small group support to children as required.
  • Assist in monitoring and recording student progress.
  • Help with classroom management to ensure a positive and productive learning environment.
  • Support the welfare and emotional needs of students, promoting a positive attitude towards learning.
  • Collaborate with the teaching team and other school staff to enhance the overall school experience for all students.
  • Skills and Experience:

  • Experience of working with children in a primary school setting is desirable but not essential.
  • A passion for supporting children's learning and development.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, creativity, and a positive attitude.
  • A good understanding of safeguarding procedures.
  • A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) is an advantage but not essential.

  • Your CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible and all employment breaks must be explained
  • You must have legal right to work in the UK
  • You must be willing to attend a registration interview
  • Veritas Education work with a variety of schools covering a wide geographical area. We deal with teaching placements at Primary, Secondary and college level as well as support staff positions also within these.
