We are currently working with a fantastic primary school in Southwark that is looking for a committed and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team.     About the Role: As an HLTA, you will be an integral part of the school's support team, working closely with class teachers to deliver engaging and effective learning experiences for students. You will provide valuable support in the classroom, assist in planning and delivering lessons, and work with students on a one-to-one or small group basis. Your role will also include supporting children with additional learning needs and helping to create an inclusive, nurturing environment.

    Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the planning and delivery of lessons across all subject areas
  • Lead small group interventions or one-to-one sessions to support students' progress
  • Help implement and monitor Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for children with additional needs
  • Provide feedback to teachers, parents, and students on academic progress and wellbeing
  • Support classroom behaviour management to ensure a positive learning environment
  • Organise and prepare teaching resources to enhance lesson delivery
  • Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere for all students
  • Requirements and Qualifications

  • Good literacy skills - GCSE Grade C or above in English Language; Level 2 English or above; or equivalent
  • Good numeracy skills- GCSE Grade C or above in Maths; Level 2 Maths or above; or equivalent
  • HLTA qualification (or equivalent) or relevant experience in an educational setting
  • Previous experience working with primary-aged children, preferably in a school environment
  • Strong understanding of the National Curriculum and assessment methods
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • A passion for supporting children's learning and development
  • A proactive, adaptable, and solution-focused attitude
