Veritas Education are working with a small school looking to hire a psychology graduate teaching assistant to work with students one to one Your role would be working closely with students 1:1 on a full time contract. The successful graduate teaching assistant will work independently as well as closely with teaching staff to deliver specialised 1:1 sessions for students.

As a graduate teaching assistant, you will work closely with parents, carers and families as a part of the wider community.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF A GRADUATE TEACHING ASSISTANT
Graduate Teaching Assistant support for Pupils:
- Support pupils to make good academic progress, under the direction of the teacher and Inclusion leader
- Set challenging and demanding expectations and promote self-esteem and independence
- Implement group or 1:1 interventions to support pupils who have emotional or social barriers to learning
- Establish constructive relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and setting high expectations
- Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils
Graduate Teaching Assistant Support for Teachers:
- Create and maintain a purposeful, orderly and supportive environment, in accordance with lesson plans and assist with the display of pupils' work
- Use strategies, under the direction of the teacher, to support pupils to achieve learning goals
- Discuss with the teacher how learning activities are to be organised and what their own support role will be
Qualifications needs as a Graduate Teaching Assistant:
Essential:
- Psychology degree or related field
- Good literacy skills - GCSE Grade C or above in English Language; Level 2 English or above; or equivalent
- Good numeracy skills- GCSE Grade C or above in Maths; Level 2 Maths or above; or equivalent
