We are currently seeking experienced and motivated Cover Supervisors to join our secondary schools in the Boroughs of Enfield, Haringey, and Waltham Forest. These positions are available for both full-time and daily supply work, with immediate starts available.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for maintaining a productive learning environment in the absence of the regular classroom teacher, ensuring that students continue their education in a safe and structured setting.
Key Responsibilities for Cover Supervisor:
- Supervise and manage classrooms during the absence of the class teacher, ensuring students stay on task with pre-planned lessons.
- Support students' learning by encouraging engagement and motivating them to actively participate in lessons.
- Promote positive behaviour and manage classroom dynamics effectively, ensuring a respectful and focused atmosphere.
- Provide students with the tools and encouragement they need to reach their full potential and improve their attainment levels.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of students, following all safeguarding protocols.
- Liaise with senior staff and colleagues to report any incidents or concerns and support the school's day-to-day operations.
Requirements:
- Degree-level qualifications (or equivalent).
- A strong understanding of the UK secondary curriculum and experience in a classroom setting.
- Previous experience as a Cover Supervisor, teacher, or in an educational role, ideally within a secondary school.
- Proven ability to manage student behaviour and create a positive learning environment.
- Excellent classroom leadership skills, with the ability to direct and guide students independently.
- A solid understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures.
