Exams Officer - Blackburn
???? Location: Blackburn⏰ Hours: Full-Time | Contract: Ongoing
Veritas Education is currently recruiting for a highly organised and detail-oriented Exams Officer to join a school in Blackburn. This is a key role in ensuring the smooth administration and management of examinations while maintaining compliance with awarding body regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
✅ Coordinate and oversee all aspects of exam administration, including GCSEs, A-Levels, and vocational qualifications.✅ Liaise with exam boards to ensure compliance with regulations and deadlines.✅ Manage exam timetables, entries, and seating plans in collaboration with senior staff.✅ Ensure secure storage, distribution, and collection of exam papers in line with awarding body regulations.✅ Supervise and train invigilators to ensure examinations run smoothly.✅ Oversee the management of examination days, including:
- Preparing exam venues.
- Starting and ending examinations following official protocols.
- Handling emergencies, irregularities, and malpractice issues.
- Collecting, packing, and dispatching examination scripts securely.✅ Ensure compliance with JCQ and awarding body regulations, maintaining accurate records.✅ Process exam results, liaising with staff and students regarding queries and appeals.
What We're Looking For:
???? Previous experience as an Exams Officer or in a similar administrative role within education.???? Strong knowledge of exam procedures, regulations, and JCQ guidelines.???? Excellent organisational and time-management skills.???? Ability to work efficiently under pressure, meeting strict deadlines.???? Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with staff, students, and external bodies.???? Proficiency in SIMS or similar exam management systems (desirable).
