Job Advert: Key Stage 2 Part-Time Intervention Teacher
Location: Accrington Starting: After February Half Term
Veritas are seeking a Key Stage 2 Part-Time Intervention Teacher to join a partner school in Accrington, starting after the February half term. This exciting opportunity includes teaching Maths, English, and Foundation Subjects to small groups of children across all Key Stage 2 classes.
About the Role As a Key Stage 2 Intervention Teacher, you will be responsible for providing targeted catch-up sessions across all Key Stage 2 classes. You will work closely with pupils who require additional support in their learning, focusing on improving their core skills in Maths, English, and a variety of Foundation Subjects. Your role will involve delivering tailored interventions to help bridge any gaps in knowledge, boost confidence, and ensure every child is given the opportunity to succeed.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality intervention sessions to small groups of pupils across all Key Stage 2 classes.
- Focus on catching up missed learning, particularly in Maths, English, and Foundation Subjects.
- Assess pupil progress and adapt teaching strategies to meet individual needs.
- Support the classroom teachers with planning and delivering interventions aligned with the curriculum.
- Provide regular feedback on pupil progress to the school leadership team and parents.
- Create a positive and engaging learning environment where pupils feel supported and motivated.
Requirements
- Qualified teacher status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience teaching in Key Stage 2, ideally with intervention experience.
- A passion for helping children succeed and a strong understanding of the primary curriculum.
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
- Flexible, proactive, and able to work independently.
Working Hours This is a part-time position, with hours to be discussed at interview. The role is set to begin immediately after the February half term, offering a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact in our school.
