We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic team at a well-established secondary school in Lewisham. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a diverse group of students and make a significant impact on their educational journey.
Role: SEN Teaching Assistant

Key Responsibilities:
- Support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in both individual and group settings.
- Assist in the development and delivery of tailored learning plans and interventions.
- Work closely with teachers and SENCO to monitor progress and ensure effective differentiation.
- Provide emotional and behavioural support to students, promoting their inclusion and confidence.
- Assist with classroom management and ensure a safe and supportive learning environment.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience working as a SEN Teaching Assistant, ideally in a secondary school setting.
- Strong understanding of a range of SEN needs, including autism, dyslexia, and emotional/behavioural difficulties.
- Excellent communication skills and a patient, empathetic approach.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to suit individual student needs.
- A proactive, solution-focused attitude with a commitment to student success.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
- Experience with SEN software or assistive technology.
- Training in specific SEN interventions is a plus (e.g., Team-Teach, Makaton).
