SEN Teaching Assistant
Veritas is seeking dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistants for multiple opportunities in the Doncaster area. These roles involve working closely with teachers and students, providing hands-on support for learners with a range of Special Educational Needs. Full-time and part-time positions are available.
The Role:
- Support a class of 6-10 pupils by assisting the teacher in providing individualized learning experiences.
- Collaborate with the teacher to plan and deliver engaging, practical, and personalized learning activities.
- Provide focused 1:1 and small group support tailored to individual needs.
- Assist students with social, emotional, and communication skills development.
- Monitor and record students' progress to help shape future learning approaches.
- Help maintain a safe and structured classroom environment by supporting the management of behaviour effectively.
Ideal Candidate:
- Experience working with individuals with Special Educational Needs, ideally in an educational setting.
- A practical understanding of SEN strategies and techniques to address diverse learning needs.
- Patience, resilience, and the ability to respond effectively in dynamic situations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proactive and problem-solving approach.
- Confidence in managing challenging behaviour using proven techniques.
- A strong sense of awareness and sensitivity to students' responses and emotions.
