Are you passionate about creating a supportive and nurturing environment for young people with special educational needs? A vibrant secondary school in North West London is seeking a dedicated and proactive Support Assistant to join their outstanding Special Educational Needs (SEN) department.
About the Role:As a Support Assistant in the SEN department, you role will involve helping yr 7 to yr 11 students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Responsibilities include:
- Supporting students with additional learning needs in the classroom and during focused interventions.
- Coordinating with teachers to implement personalised strategies that overcome pupil challenges.
- Engaging with the school's sensory room and garden facilities to provide a calming, enriching environment that enhances student wellbeing and learning.
- Encouraging independence, confidence, and a love for learning in all students.
What We're Looking For:
- A compassionate and resourceful individual who enjoys working with young people.
- Strong communication skills and a flexible approach to meeting diverse student needs.
- Experience working with children or young people with SEN is advantageous but not required.
- A commitment to fostering respect, inclusivity, and a positive school experience for all students.
