They are seeking a dedicated Early Years Teaching Assistant to join our Reception team and support the development of our youngest learners.
Role Responsibilities
As an Early Years Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support the class teacher in delivering the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.
- Work with individuals and small groups to promote learning, social skills, and confidence.
- Assist with setting up and maintaining engaging learning environments.
- Observe, assess, and record children's progress, sharing insights with the teaching team.
- Deliver phonics sessions in line with the school's chosen phonics program, supporting children in developing early reading skills.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and stimulating atmosphere that encourages exploration and creativity.
- Provide pastoral care and promote the well-being of all children.
- Support with daily routines such as snack times, toileting, and outdoor activities.
Person Specification
The ideal candidate will:
- Have experience working in Early Years education, ideally in a Reception setting.
- Hold a relevant childcare qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent).
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of the EYFS framework and child development.
- Have experience delivering phonics sessions and a sound knowledge of early reading strategies.
- Be patient, caring, and enthusiastic about working with young children.
- Have excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
