We are currently recruiting strong Graduate Teaching Assistants from all subject areas to work in a prestigious secondary school based in central London. The role will be full time, Monday-Friday, 8.30am-4pm, term time only, and will be to begin asap and January 2025.
Graduate Teaching Assistant responsibilities include:
- supporting students including those with special educational needs
- working proactively to help students achieve their attainment levels
- encouraging students to engage proactively with their learning
- helping to provide a safe environment for children to learn
- assisting the teacher with students general learning and development
As a Graduate Teaching Assistant you will be:
- knowledgeable and experienced in special needs and learning difficulties
- a strong communicator, able to build a rapport with young people
- patient and empathetic
- reliable and committed to the school and students' improvement
- enthusiastic and engaging
- able to work alongside the teacher and independently
- certifications and attendance to training courses for SEN are beneficial, as well as first hand experience with SEN.
Ideally you will already have some experience of working with young people, particularly those with additional needs, or you may be considering furthering your career in education as a teacher. As well as having a degree. Maths, English and Science GCSEs grades A-C are desirable but not essential.
You will need to have a DBS on the update service - if you do not have one you will need to apply for one which you can do so through Veritas.
