1:1 SEN Learning Support Assistants
Various roles across Leeds, ASAP starts, Full-time/Fixed Term contracts and potential temp to perm
We are looking for dedicated and compassionate 1:1 SEN Learning Support Assistants to join our team, working with primary schools to support pupils with Autism, ADHD, and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH)
The role will involve providing 1:1 tailored support to children in Early Years to Key Stage 2, working both in and out of the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 support to children with additional needs (Autism, ADHD, SEMH)
- Work closely with teachers to implement individual education plans (IEPs) and strategies
- Support children with learning and social skills, encouraging independence and positive behaviour
- Manage classroom interventions for children who may be struggling with emotional dysregulation
- Foster a nurturing yet firm environment, with clear boundaries and expectations
- Work with small groups of children to provide additional academic support or behaviour intervention
Person Specification:
- Experience or strong interest in working with children with additional needs
- A nurturing but assertive approach, with the ability to set clear boundaries
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A background in sports, psychology, or a personal interest in working with children with additional needs is highly desirable
- Previous experience working in an educational setting or with children with SEN is a plus, but not essential
- A passion for supporting children and helping them to achieve their full potential
