Job Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (SEN School)
Location: West Drayton, London
Contract Type: Full-Time (Term-time only)
Salary: £110 - £130 per day (D.O.E)
Join a dedicated team at an SEN school in West Drayton as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)! This role involves complementing the professional work of teachers by taking on responsibilities for various learning activities under an agreed system of supervision. Conveniently located with easy access to transportation, this role offers a fulfilling opportunity to contribute to students' and your own progress and development.
**Support for Pupils:**
- Assess, manage, and deliver pastoral and learning support to students
- Motivate and encourage students to achieve and develop their potential.
- Provide constructive feedback on progress and achievements.
- Utilize detailed knowledge and specialist skills to support individualized learning needs.
- Establish positive relationships with students, acting as a role model and setting high expectations.
- Collaborate with SENCO and teachers to develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour mentoring plans.
- Understand and address the individual social, health, and hygiene needs of students.
- Handle minor incidents and ensure the well-being of students, including escorting them home if needed
- Provide individual and group reading sessions, maintaining accurate records as directed by the class teacher.
- Establish productive mentoring relationships and provide support for distressed students.
**Requirements:**
- Relevant experience in educational support, including working with diverse student needs.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- Ability to motivate and encourage students while maintaining high expectations.
- Capability to work collaboratively with the SENCO and teachers to implement education plans.
- Understanding of individual student needs and strategies to support their development.
- Knowledge of maintaining accurate records and reporting student progress.
- Compassion, patience, and resilience in handling various student situations.
