A delightful Catholic Infant school in Burnt Oak are looking for a dedicated and supportive learning support assistant to join their Year 2 classroom. Role Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant/Learning Support Assistant to provide 1-1 support for a child in Year 2 with global developmental delay. This role is essential in helping the student with phonics, literacy, and numeracy, as well as maintaining focus and staying on task during class activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1-1 support to a Year 2 student with global developmental delay.
- Assist with phonics, literacy, and numeracy tasks.
- Help the child maintain focus and stay on task in class.
- Implement individualized learning strategies to support the child's academic progress.
- Collaborate with teachers and SEN coordinators to develop and implement effective support plans.
- Monitor and report on the child's progress and development.
- Ensure a safe and nurturing learning environment.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Previous experience working with children in Reception/KS1 is highly desirable.
- Proven experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
- A valid Child Workforce DBS on the update service is essential.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting children's learning and development.
