Job Title: Level 2 School Early Years Teaching Assistant - Reception Class
Location: Lancaster
Salary: £13.75 per hour
Hours: Full-time. 9am until 3pm, Monday to Friday
Contract Type: Temporary, Maternity leave - until July 2025

A well established, vibrant and welcoming school, providing high-quality care and education to children aged 2-11 years are looking for a permanent Level 2 Early Years Teaching Assistant for their Reception class.

Job Role
As a level 2 TA, you will play a key role in:
- Providing a safe, caring, and stimulating environment for the children.
- Planning and implementing a range of creative activities to promote the development of each child in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
- Observing and assessing children's development, maintaining accurate records of progress.
- Working closely with parents and carers, sharing updates on children's progress.
- Supporting the team to ensure high standards of care and education are maintained.
- Delivering phonics sessions to groups of children
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging activities tailored to the needs and interests of the children.
- Ensure safeguarding and health and safety policies are adhered to at all times.
- Build positive relationships with children, parents, and staff.
- Contribute to team meetings, planning, and ongoing development of the nursery.
- Promote inclusion and support individual learning needs.
Requirements
- Minimum Level 2 in Childcare/Early Years - Essential
- Knowledge of the EYFS framework and child development.
- Experience working in an early years setting.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- A caring and patient nature, with a passion for working with children.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
