Position: Design and Technology (DT) Teacher - Resistant Materials Location: Kirklees, West Yorkshire Start Date: September 2024 Contract Type: Part-Time, 1 Term Contract
Role Overview: We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Design and Technology Teacher to join our team on a part-time basis for the autumn term. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and innovative DT lessons to students across Key Stages 3 and 4, fostering a passion for the subject and supporting student achievement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver high-quality DT lessons that cater to the needs of all students.
- Develop and implement creative teaching strategies to engage students in practical and theoretical aspects of DT.
- Assess, monitor, and report on student progress, providing feedback to support their development.
- Contribute to the development of the DT curriculum and resources.
- Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment in the DT workshop.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and support whole-school initiatives.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience teaching Design and Technology at the secondary school level.
- Strong subject knowledge and a passion for DT.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to motivate and inspire students.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Desirable:
- Experience with a variety of DT specialisms, such as Product Design, Graphics, or Resistant Materials.
- Knowledge of current educational trends and best practices in DT.
