Drama Teacher (Maternity Cover)

Location: Sheffield, United Kingdom

Salary: £160-£220 per day (dependent on experience and qualifications)

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:15-14:30 (Temporary- Maternity Cover)

Start: September 2024

If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a Drama Teacher at Veritas Education working in a Secondary School in Sheffield.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging drama lessons to students across various age groups and abilities.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment where students feel encouraged to explore their creativity and express themselves.
  • Develop and implement innovative teaching strategies to cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Assess student progress through a variety of methods, providing constructive feedback to support their development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to contribute to the overall success of the drama department and school community.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities such as school productions, drama clubs, and workshops.
  • Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification is essential.
  • Specialization or experience in drama education, with a strong understanding of acting techniques, theatre history, and dramatic literature.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students.
  • Adaptability and creativity to tailor lessons to meet the needs of individual learners.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Previous experience working in a school or educational setting is desirable but not essential.
