About:
A welcoming and supportive all girls secondary school with easy access to the open green spaces of Hackney Downs Park and Hackney Marshes. The Role:
We are seeking a kind and proactive Learning Support Assistant to join our wonderful school in September 2024. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual with some experience working with children to develop this within a supportive school environment. The role with predominantly involve supporting students with SEN, so experience working with individuals with additional needs is ideal.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and provide particular support for students, including those with special needs, ensuring their safety and access to learning activities
- Assist with the development and implementation of Individual Education/Behaviour Plans and Personal Care programmes
- Establish strong working relationships with students
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students
- Liase with the teacher and other staff to implement strategies to best support students
- Encourage positive behaviour, and handle any conflict in line with school policy
Candidate Requirements:
- Experience working with secondary aged children in some capicity
- Experience working with individuals with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A commitment to fostering a positive and nurturing learning environment.
- Enthusiasm for working with children and helping them achieve their potential.
- A Bachelors degree is preffered but not a must
