A secondary school in Walthamstow is dedicated to fostering a love of learning and is searching for a talented English teacher to join them as Maternity Cover. If you have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a proven track record of inspiring students through engaging and thought-provoking lessons, we would love to hear from you!
The school:
A mixed secondary school in Walthamstow,for pupils aged 11-16. The school is known for its welcoming atmosphere and supportive community, where every student is encouraged to reach their full potential. The Role:
A part time English teacher position, to start in September. This is a 3 day a week position (Mon, Tues, Thurs) up until December 2024. The right candidate will have suitable experience teaching English in a secondary environment. This role is not suitable for Early Career Teachers (ECTs)
We are looking for an experienced English teacher who can:
- Plan and Deliver Engaging Lessons: Create dynamic and stimulating lesson plans that inspire and motivate students, encouraging a deep understanding and appreciation of English.
- Foster a Love of Learning: Cultivate a classroom environment that is both challenging and supportive, where students are excited to learn and explore new ideas.
- Monitor and Assess Student Progress: Regularly evaluate student performance, providing constructive feedback and support to help them achieve their best.
- Collaborate with Colleagues: Work closely with other teachers and staff to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive educational experience for all students.
- Participate in School Activities: Engage in extracurricular activities and school events, contributing to the vibrant school community.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Must hold QTS and have substantial experience in teaching English at the secondary level.
- Proven Experience: This role is not suitable for Early Career Teachers (ECTs). We are seeking someone with a strong background in delivering high-quality English lessons.
- Passion for Education: A genuine enthusiasm for teaching and the ability to inspire students of all abilities.
- Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex concepts.
- Commitment to Professional Development: A willingness to engage in ongoing professional development and contribute to the school's continuous improvement.
