Are you a graduate with a degree in education or a related field, and looking for a rewarding role as a Teaching Assistant in a vibrant primary school? Veritas Education Agency is seeking a passionate and dedicated Graduate Teaching Assistant to support Key Stage 1 (KS1) pupils at a fantastic primary school in Lewisham.
This is the perfect opportunity for someone qualified in the field of education and looking to gain further experience within a school environment before embarking on a full teaching career.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide general classroom support to the teacher, ensuring smooth delivery of lessons to KS1 students.
- Assist with planning, preparing, and organising learning materials and activities.
- Support individual and small groups of students with their learning, ensuring that they are engaged and achieving their potential.
- Assist with classroom management and promote a positive learning environment.
- Help assess and track student progress, providing feedback to the class teacher.
- Work closely with the class teacher to identify students who may require additional support or intervention.
- Provide pastoral care and support for students' well-being.
The Ideal Candidate:
- A graduate with a degree in Education or a related field (e.g. Child Development, Psychology, or similar).
- A strong passion for education and helping young children achieve their potential.
- Experience working with children, ideally in an educational or classroom setting (this could include placements, volunteering, or work experience).
- Ability to communicate effectively with children, teachers, and parents.
- Proactive, positive, and enthusiastic about supporting both individual and group learning.
- Eager to further develop teaching skills and experience in a classroom environment.
