Design & Technology (DT) Teacher - Full-Time, Long-Term Role
Location: Bradford, West Yorkshire Start Date: October Half Term 2026 Contract Type: Full-Time, Long-Term Employer: Veritas Education (on behalf of a partner secondary school)
About the Role
Veritas Education is working in partnership with a successful secondary school in the Bradford area to recruit an enthusiastic and skilled Design & Technology Teacher for a full-time, long-term position starting from October Half Term 2026.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established DT department and inspire students through practical, hands-on learning. The successful candidate will help develop students' creativity, problem-solving abilities, and technical skills while delivering an engaging and challenging curriculum.
Applications are welcomed from both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs).
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging Design & Technology lessons across KS3 and KS4
- Teach areas such as Product Design, Resistant Materials, Engineering, Construction, or Graphics, depending on your specialism
- Plan, prepare, and assess lessons in line with the national curriculum
- Differentiate learning to support students of all abilities
- Promote creativity, innovation, and practical problem-solving skills
- Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom management
- Ensure safe working practices are followed within workshop environments
- Contribute to departmental development and extra-curricular activities
The Ideal Candidate
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Has experience teaching DT within a secondary school setting
- Demonstrates strong practical and technical subject knowledge
- Has excellent classroom management and communication skills
- Is passionate about inspiring students through practical learning
- Committed to raising attainment and student achievement
- ECTs are encouraged to apply
