SEN Primary School - Southwark
£160-£220 per day
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Occupational Therapist to join a specialist SEN primary school, supporting pupils aged 4-11 with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD).
This is a rewarding opportunity for an experienced Occupational Therapist to make a genuine difference to the lives of children with complex needs, helping them develop the functional, sensory, and self-regulation skills required to access learning and achieve greater independence.
The Role
As an Occupational Therapist, you will:
- Assess pupils' sensory, motor, and functional needs.
- Develop and deliver individualised therapy programmes.
- Provide both direct intervention and indirect support within the classroom.
- Create sensory strategies and environmental adaptations to support learning and engagement.
- Work closely with teachers, support staff, parents, and external agencies.
- Contribute to EHCP reviews and multidisciplinary meetings.
The ideal Occupational Therapist will have:
- Holds a recognised Occupational Therapy qualification and is HCPC registered.
- Has experience working with children with Autism and/or complex learning needs.
- Understands sensory integration principles and their application within educational settings.
- Demonstrates excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Is committed to achieving positive outcomes for children and families.
