Complex Needs Teaching Assistant - SEN School
Location: Bradford Full-Time | Long-Term Opportunity
Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant who is confident supporting children with complex and additional needs?
We are recruiting for a specialist SEN school in the BD9 area of Bradford, looking for a caring, resilient and confident Complex Needs Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis.
This role is ideal for someone who already has experience supporting children or young people with additional needs and understands that every child communicates, learns and responds to their environment differently.
As a Complex Needs Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with pupils who require a high level of support throughout the school day. You will help create a safe, positive and supportive environment where pupils can engage with learning and develop their independence.
A key part of the role will be understanding and responding appropriately to sensory needs. We are therefore looking for someone who is patient, observant and able to adapt their approach to meet the individual needs of each pupil.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience supporting children with SEN or additional needs
- Is confident working with pupils with complex needs
- Has a good understanding of sensory needs and sensory differences
- Can provide calm, consistent and reassuring support
- Is patient, caring and resilient
- Can build positive relationships with children who may communicate in different ways
- Is comfortable working closely with teachers and other support staff
- Is ideally available full-time
- Is committed to supporting pupils with their learning, wellbeing and independence
Who would this role suit?
This opportunity would be ideal for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or Complex Needs Support Worker who is looking to develop their experience within a specialist school environment.
We are particularly keen to speak with candidates who genuinely enjoy SEN support and are looking for a consistent, full-time position rather than occasional supply work.
Interested?
If you have experience supporting children with additional needs and feel confident working within a complex SEN environment, we would love to hear from you.
