SEN Teaching Assistant Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding role in a supportive and inclusive secondary school?

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join our outstanding student support team in a school in Redbridge. This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with young people who require additional support, helping them overcome barriers to learning, build confidence, and achieve their full potential.

This role would suit an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Behaviour Mentor, Youth Worker, or someone with a background supporting children and young people with additional needs.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

- Support students with a range of needs including Autism (ASC), ADHD, Speech & Language needs, SEMH, and Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)

- Provide tailored one-to-one and small-group interventions

- Work closely with the SENCO, teaching staff, pastoral teams, and external professionals

- Support students with EHCP targets and personalised learning strategies

- Promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and social development

- Encourage independence, confidence, and engagement in learning

- Help create a nurturing, inclusive, and ambitious learning environment

We're Looking For Someone Who:

  • Has previous experience supporting children or young people with SEN
  • Understands the challenges faced by students with additional needs
  • Is patient, resilient, and passionate about inclusion
  • Can build strong relationships with students and staff
  • Has excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Is proactive, adaptable, and committed to helping every child succeed
