Pastoral Support Assistant - Primary School - Leeds
Are you someone children naturally feel comfortable talking to?
Veritas Education are looking for Pastoral Support Assistants to work across Primary schools in Leeds.
The role is all about helping pupils feel settled, supported and ready to learn.
You may be supporting children experiencing difficulties with friendships, behaviour, attendance, confidence, family circumstances or emotional well-being.
The role could involve:
- Providing 1:1 pastoral support
- Running small group sessions
- Helping pupils regulate emotions
- Supporting children during difficult periods
- Promoting positive attendance and engagement
- Helping pupils build confidence and resilience
- Working with teaching staff, SENCOs and pastoral leads
- Liaising with parents or carers where appropriate
Previous school experience is helpful, but experience in mentoring, youth work, family support, care or children's services can also transfer really well.
We're looking for someone approachable, calm and able to listen without judgement.
